About Us

Whitney Dow (l) and Marco Williams (r)

Two Tone Productions

Two Tone Productions was formed by a black and a white filmmaker to create films, curriculum and web-based content, which address issues of race and difference. Founded in 1998 as an outgrowth of the principles first collaboration, the film “Two Towns of Jasper”, the company has produced films that have screened at festivals and aired on television networks around the world. Two Tone Productions'  films have received many awards including: the George Foster Peabody Award, Alfred I duPont Award, The Gotham Award, The Beacon Award, the Emmy Award as well as awards and prizes from numerous festivals.

In addition to production, Two Tone is committed to outreach and has built robust engagement programs around many of its productions. In partnership with Working Film and Facing History and Ourselves, Two Tone’s films have been used as educational and mediating tools by hundreds of high schools, universities, community groups and faith-based organizations.

Although our unique interracial partnership and co-directing methodology brings us many projects that address race, we are interested in any subject matter that allows us to investigate what it means to be human.
